In the quiet town of Ackerman, Mississippi, a dispute escalated into a tragedy that cut short the life of 18-year-old Darius Treyvon Kennedy on Sunday, March 27, 2022. The young man was fatally shot at the Millwood Apartments and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The investigation into Kennedy's death quickly led to the arrests of three teenagers.
Two of the teens, a 16-year-old and a 14-year-old, were taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. They were identified as Cordarius Brown, 16, and Detravion Ball, 14.
