Abdullah Mohammed, aged 37, was found dead on May 30, 2022, in an abandoned motel room on Ellis Avenue in Jackson, Mississippi. His body was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, marking the 59th homicide in Jackson for that year. The motel, previously a Quality Inn, had been closed and had become a hotspot for crime and vandalism. Despite its closure, the building continued to pose significant public health and safety risks, including several fires earlier in the year.
