On a Saturday morning in June, 21-year-old Brianna Winters was shot and killed while sitting in her car at a Valero gas station on Cooper Road in Jackson, Mississippi. The incident, which occurred on June 11, 2022, stemmed from a prearranged gun sale that took a fatal turn. Winters was found in the driver's seat of her vehicle with a gunshot wound to the left side of her neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into her death quickly led to a suspect. Corinthian Roberson, 25 years old at the time, was arrested in connection with the shooting. Authorities reported that Roberson had gone to the gas station with the intention of purchasing a firearm from Winters.

According to police, when Winters did not produce the gun, Roberson allegedly shot her with his own weapon before leaving the scene. Roberson was subsequently charged with murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
