Auden Jubilee Simpkins, a 23-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on a day meant for celebration in Jackson, Mississippi. The events leading to her death began when a group of friends, traveling together in a truck, witnessed a disturbing scene. They saw a man, later identified as Jordan Cummins, physically confronting his girlfriend, Jenny Lukens, in a parked vehicle. Several passengers from the truck, including a 27-year-old volunteer firefighter named Joshua Spann, got out to intervene.
