In the early morning hours of April 19, 2008, a sense of unease settled over the 1200 block of N. Boston in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A woman was startled by a knock on her door around 5 a.m. Standing before her was a Black man, estimated to be in his thirties, who delivered the chilling news that a man had been shot in front of her house. He urged her to call 911 before disappearing into the morning shadows. His identity and role in the events of that morning remain a mystery.
