A 25-year-old white male, Nathan S. Kahrahrah, tragically lost his life on February 23, 2014, in his hometown of Meeker, Oklahoma. Born on August 15, 1988, he was a man known for his love of the outdoors and his skills as a survivalist and martial artist. After graduating from Family of Faith Christian School in 2007, he briefly served in the United States Army in 2013, with a short station in Germany before being honorably discharged.
Upon returning to Meeker, he found work in construction, remodeling homes.
The circumstances of his untimely death quickly became the focus of a law enforcement investigation. On that Sunday in February, Nathan was found deceased in his residence. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department later acknowledged that a shooting had occurred in Meeker in the early morning hours of the day he died, turning his home into a crime scene. The Meeker Police Department also became involved in the investigation, but officials remained guarded about the details of the case, releasing very little information to the public.
In the years that have passed since his death, the investigation into the shooting of Nathan S. Kahrahrah has not yielded any publicly announced arrests or named suspects. The community was left to mourn the loss of a young man they had known and watched grow up, without the closure of knowing if anyone was ever held responsible for his death. His funeral was held on February 27, 2014, at the Family of Faith Christian Church, and he was laid to rest in the Rice Family Cemetery. The lack of public resolution in his case has left a lingering sense of unanswered questions for his family and all who knew him.
