On December 5, 2015, the body of 25-year-old Jeromy Ingram, a male resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was discovered inside a van in the parking lot of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel located at 3340 S. 79th East Avenue. Initially, there were no obvious signs of what had caused his death, but a closer examination by the medical examiner revealed a fatal wound to his neck, shifting the investigation into a homicide.
Jeromy was remembered by his loved ones as an avid runner who also found joy in music, reading, and volunteering his time.
The investigation into Jeromy's murder led Tulsa police to two individuals. The first suspect, 25-year-old Deandre Armon Williams, was arrested and charged with murder. A second suspect, a 32-year-old woman named Violet Cole, who also went by the alias Tisha Renea Young, was later apprehended. Her arrest came after diligent work by the Tulsa Police Fugitive Warrants Task Force and the U.S. Marshall Service, who located her in the town of Slick, about 35 miles southwest of Tulsa.
Evidence that proved crucial in the case against the suspects included surveillance footage that captured Tisha Young using Jeromy Ingram's debit card shortly after he was killed. Both Williams and Young faced serious charges, including first-degree murder and robbery, in connection with Jeromy's death. The diligent work of law enforcement brought the suspects into custody, initiating the legal process to hold them accountable for their actions and bringing a measure of closure to a grieving family and community.
