Do you know what happened to Edgar? On February 5, 1997, 51-year-old Edgar Joe Eddington was found murdered in his Tulsa, Oklahoma, mobile home. The gruesome discovery was made by his wife, Vicky, when she found him near the front door of their residence at 7100 N. Yale. An investigation revealed that the male victim had been brutally beaten and stabbed multiple times in a violent struggle.
Evidence at the scene suggested that Eddington fought fiercely for his life, at one point even jumping through a window to escape his
assailants. However, it appears his attackers caught up to him and dragged him back inside the home, where the fatal assault continued. Investigators believe at least two individuals were involved in the homicide, a theory supported by the presence of several different shoe prints found in and around the house.
A championship breeder and trainer of pit bulls, Eddington was a well-respected figure in his community. He was known for his prize-winning dogs that competed in national shows and for the custom dog training harnesses he crafted. The motive for the murder remains unclear, though robbery is a strong possibility, as a puppy and his wallet were stolen from the home. Despite the violent nature of the crime and the evidence left behind, there have been no arrests in the case, and the murder of Edgar Eddington remains an unsolved cold case.
