On the evening of February 4, 2024, in a residence near 67th East Avenue and Jasper Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a dispute over rent money escalated into a fatal encounter for Mario Adrian Munoz. During the altercation with his roommate, Munoz was shot in the chest. Emergency services were called to the scene, and he was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Tulsa Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation. The focus of their investigation quickly turned to Munoz's roommate, identified as 26-year-old Juan Antonio Rodriguez Campa, who also went by the name Jose. Rodriguez Campa had fled the residence following the shooting, prompting a manhunt. Authorities released a description of the suspect, noting he had black hair and a distinctive Playboy bunny tattoo on his neck, and cautioned the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The search for Rodriguez Campa was brief. Just two days after the shooting, on February 6, 2024, Tulsa police located and arrested him without incident. He has since been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Mario Adrian Munoz. The case is now proceeding through the legal system as the investigation continues to gather evidence for the upcoming trial.
