In the early morning hours of May 12, 2013, a night out in Tulsa, Oklahoma, turned tragic for Kevin Hawkins. The 42-year-old man was in a parking lot near 5200 S. Lewis Avenue with an acquaintance at approximately 3:45 a.m. when their vehicle was approached by an unknown man.

The stranger, armed with a handgun, demanded money from Hawkins. A struggle broke out between the two, and in the ensuing chaos, shots were fired. Hawkins was fatally wounded. The suspect, whose identity remains unkn ...
