In the winter of 2016, a transaction on the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma, turned deadly, claiming the life of 35-year-old Joshua Farrar. On December 20th, near the intersection of West Admiral Boulevard and South Rosedale Avenue, Farrar was involved in what authorities would later describe as an illegal exchange. During this encounter, he was shot. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Farrar, a White / Caucasian male, succumbed to his injuries, marking the city's 80th homicide of the
year.
The investigation into the fatal shooting quickly led Tulsa police to a suspect. Andrew McGee, 27 years old at the time, was apprehended and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Farrar's death. Investigators believe that McGee was the individual who shot Farrar during their illicit transaction. Following his arrest, McGee was held in the Tulsa County jail without bond, awaiting his court appearance.
As the case developed, law enforcement identified a second individual they believed was connected to the crime. Shakiyla Colvin, a 26-year-old woman, was named a person of interest. Authorities suspected Colvin was the driver of the green Jeep Cherokee that transported McGee to and from the scene of the shooting. Despite multiple attempts by police to arrange an interview, Colvin initially failed to appear, leading investigators to consider her a potential accessory to the murder. She was eventually located in Dallas and questioned by police, though no immediate arrest was made.
