On a Sunday evening in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of Darryl Maurice Robinson Jr., a 23-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On January 15, 2017, Robinson was discovered in a parking lot at Norberg Park on the city's east side, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The initial discovery was made at approximately 7 p.m., and he was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Robinson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Investigators at the scene found evidence that suggested a violent encounter. A handgun and several shell casings were recovered near where Robinson was found, leading police to believe a gunfight may have occurred. Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored SUV, which may have had window damage, leaving the park around the time of the shooting.
