In the early morning hours of April 25, 2021, the life of 49-year-old Derek Gerod Brown, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in a violent encounter in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Responding to reports of a shooting at the Crossings at Midtown apartment complex near 51st Street and Yale Avenue around 5:30 a.m., Tulsa police officers discovered Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest.
