In Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 42-year-old Carlos Record, a male, came to a violent end on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was discovered inside a residence near Apache and North Peoria, having been fatally shot. The nature of his death immediately prompted a homicide investigation by the Tulsa police.
The subsequent investigation led to the identification of two suspects in connection with the murder of Carlos Record.
In the days following the discovery of his body, law enforcement arrested 31-year-old Terry Buckley. He was charged with first-degree murder and robbery, suggesting a possible motive for the crime. However, the search for justice was not yet complete as a second individual remained at large.
For more than a year, the second suspect, identified as Derrick Walker, evaded capture. His time as a fugitive came to an end in July 2018, when he was apprehended by the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force following a brief standoff. Walker was also charged with first-degree murder for his role in Carlos Record's death. In August 2019, Derrick Walker entered a guilty plea to charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. He was subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison, to be followed by a decade of probation.
