In the early hours of an October morning in Oklahoma City, a life was tragically cut short. Kevin Gipson, a 47-year-old male, was inside a residence in the 1500 block of Kinkaid Drive when a single gunshot ended his life on October 11, 2017. The man responsible was 19-year-old Hunter Todd, who was reportedly handling a firearm recklessly.
Authorities arrested Todd in connection with the fatal shooting.
According to reports, Todd claimed he did not believe the gun was loaded when it discharged, striking Gipson. The incident was described as an accidental shooting that occurred around 1:30 a.m.
Following an investigation into the events that transpired, Hunter Todd was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. He faced multiple charges, including first-degree manslaughter. Additional charges brought against him were possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug proceeds, and possession of a firearm after a previous felony conviction.
