In the small town of Pineview, Georgia, a gathering of people at a home on Depot Street turned tragic in the early morning hours of May 25, 2025. Gunfire shattered the midnight calm, leaving two men, 40-year-old Charleston Calix and 36-year-old Nathadius Kenta Lawson, dead at the scene from their injuries. Both Calix and Lawson were residents of Pineview.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to lead the double homicide investigation at the request of the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation quickly zeroed in on a person of interest, 39-year-old Quintavis Holt, also of Pineview. Authorities issued arrest warrants for Holt, who is the brother of the town's suspended mayor, Brandon Holt. The Wilcox County Sheriff's Office described Holt as 'armed and dangerous' and offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to his capture. He was sought on multiple charges, including two counts of malice murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
After a search that involved multiple law enforcement agencies, Quintavis Holt was arrested without incident on the evening of June 20, 2025. He was discovered at a vacant house on Dennard Street in Pineview. In addition to the murder and assault charges, Holt also faces one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Following his arrest, the case was handed over to the Cordele Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
