In the small town of Pineview, Georgia, a gathering at a residence on Depot Street took a tragic turn in the early hours of May 25, 2025. Nathadius Kenta Lawson, a 36-year-old male, was shot and killed in a double homicide that also claimed the life of 40-year-old Charleston Calix. The two men, both residents of Pineview, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident, which shattered the quiet of the close-knit community, prompted an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation at the request of the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities quickly identified a person of interest, and a manhunt for 39-year-old Quintavis Holt of Pineview ensued. Holt, who was described as armed and dangerous, is the brother of the town's suspended mayor, Brandon Holt. The Wilcox County Sheriff's Office offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. The search for Holt came to an end on June 20, 2025, when he was arrested without incident at a vacant house on Dennard Street in Pineview by the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies.
Following his capture, Quintavis Holt was charged with two counts of malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The motive for the shooting has not been publicly released. The case has since been turned over to the Cordele Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for prosecution.
