On a snowy afternoon in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 21-year-old Alfred Seymore, known to his friends and family as Trey, was tragically cut short. On November 12, 2018, Seymore had made plans to have lunch with his mother after a doctor's appointment. However, he first went to the Candlewood Suites hotel near 71st and Memorial to meet with someone.
It was in the parking lot of this hotel, between noon and 1:00 p.m., that the fatal encounter occurred.
Two individuals approached Seymore's vehicle and opened fire. A hotel employee later discovered him unresponsive in his car with a single gunshot wound to the head. Emergency services were called, but Seymore succumbed to his injuries a few days later on November 15th. His mother, Kellye Johnson, was left devastated by the loss, a pain compounded by the fact that she had previously lost another son to a brain injury. In the midst of her grief, a small solace came from the fact that her son was an organ donor, and his organs went on to save eight other lives.
For years, the case remained cold, a source of ongoing anguish for Seymore's family. Investigators had early evidence from the victim's phone that pointed towards a suspect named Kristopher Thompson, but at the time, it was deemed insufficient to secure an arrest. However, Tulsa homicide detectives continued their work, diligently interviewing witnesses and gathering more evidence over the years. This persistence eventually paid off.
In June of 2025, a significant breakthrough was made in the investigation. Kristopher Thompson was arrested and charged with felony murder in connection with Seymore's death. The renewed investigation following Thompson's arrest quickly led to the identification of a second suspect. In July 2025, Blevin Williams, Jr. was also taken into custody and charged with felony murder. The arrests brought a sense of long-awaited closure to Seymore's mother, who had held onto her faith while relentlessly seeking justice for her son.
