In the small town of Albion, Oklahoma, the life of 34-year-old Richard Daryl Medlock, a White/Caucasian male, was tragically cut short on November 13, 2018. His death was the result of multiple gunshot wounds, an act that led the Medical Examiner to rule his death a homicide. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, in conjunction with the Pushmataha County Sheriff’s Office, immediately launched an investigation into the violent death.
For over a year, investigators followed leads
and pieced together the events that led to Medlock's demise. Their persistent efforts culminated in a significant breakthrough in December 2019 with the arrest of Teamon Haskell Erwin. Erwin was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with Medlock's death, bringing a renewed sense of hope for justice to the community.
The case against Erwin was built on key pieces of evidence. At the scene of the crime, investigators discovered five spent 9mm casings. A crucial link was established when a 9mm pistol, which witnesses had seen in Erwin's possession, was recovered. Forensic analysis conducted by the OSBI Laboratory confirmed that the casings found at the scene were fired from the pistol linked to Erwin, solidifying the case against him.
