On September 13, 2016, 30-year-old Treavonne Owens was fatally shot near the intersection of 15th Avenue and E Street in Anchorage, Alaska. The incident occurred around 6 a.m., close to Central Middle School and Chugach Optional Elementary School, prompting temporary closures of both institutions as police conducted their investigation.
