On January 13, 2018, 33-year-old Kortez Brown was fatally shot in East Anchorage, Alaska. He sustained a single gunshot wound and, despite medical efforts, succumbed to his injuries the following day. The Anchorage Police Department identified two individuals, Carlton Tarkington and Aarron Settje, as persons of interest in the case. Both men had existing felony warrants at the time.
