African-American/Black male, age 21, Louis DeJesus III died on October 12, 2002, in Anchorage, Alaska. Just before 2:00 a.m., an argument in the parking lot of the VFW club in the Muldoon area—101 Oklahoma Street—erupted into gunfire. In the chaos, the 21-year-old was shot, and two other people were wounded. The scene was a crowded late-night gathering that fractured in seconds, leaving friends and bystanders scrambling for cover as the sound of shots rolled across the lot.
