On November 19, 2020, Anchorage police responded to what was initially reported as a single-vehicle collision involving a Chevy Tahoe that had struck a light pole on Dimond Boulevard. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that the driver, 49-year-old Maataua Manogiamanu, had sustained a gunshot wound. Surveillance footage from the vicinity revealed that the driver of a Toyota Tundra had fired shots at the Tahoe, leading to the crash.
