In May of 2020, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Antonio Morencio Velasco, a 20-year-old resident of Tulsa, was killed on May 10, 2020. Remembered as a kind and sweet spirit who was beautiful inside and out, he was a loving son who adored his mother, a devoted father to his son, and a cherished brother. His death left a void in the lives of his family and the many friends who loved him.
He was known for his ever-present smile and the ability to connect with everyone he met.
The circumstances surrounding his death led to a federal investigation. Several months later, in October 2020, a federal grand jury announced an indictment in connection with the death of Antonio. Matthew Scott Boll, a 44-year-old man also from Tulsa, was charged with his killing. The indictment specified that Boll used a firearm in the act. He faced charges of voluntary manslaughter in Indian Country. Further charges against Boll included involuntary manslaughter and being an unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of a firearm. The investigation into Antonio's death was a collaborative effort between the Tulsa Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
