In the early morning hours of a Saturday, a dispute between roommates in an Oklahoma City residence escalated to a fatal conclusion. On February 20, 2021, police were dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of SW 32nd Street following reports of a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of 26-year-old Jordan Ibarra-Ortega. He had been shot and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Ibarra-Ortega was a Hispanic male.
The investigation that followed painted a grim picture of a domestic conflict turned deadly. Detectives determined that an altercation had occurred between Ibarra-Ortega and his roommate, Jonathan Portillo-Lopez, who was also 26 years old at the time. The argument culminated in Portillo-Lopez allegedly shooting and killing Ibarra-Ortega.
