In the spring of 2021, a night of violence tragically cut short the life of Sarah Marie Collins, a 15-year-old girl from Oklahoma City. On the evening of April 8th, police were called to the 600 block of S.E. 22nd Street, where they discovered Sarah's body. Investigators determined that an altercation had broken out in the area, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
It is believed that Sarah was not the intended target of the shooting and was an innocent bystander struck by a stray bullet.
Described by her family as a caring and vibrant young person, Sarah’s death sent shockwaves of grief through her community. Her mother, Joyce Collins, expressed her profound loss and shock, stating that her daughter was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The incident occurred near a local skate park, a place Sarah and her friends often frequented.

To date, no arrests have been made in connection with Sarah Marie Collins's death, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
