In the late spring of 2021, a concerned family's inability to reach a young couple from Collinsville, Oklahoma, set in motion a tragic series of events. Kraig Guylan Chambers, a 33-year-old male, and his wife Sheri were reported missing on Saturday, May 29, 2021. When Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies conducted a welfare check at their home, they discovered evidence suggesting that the couple had met with foul play, indicating a violent altercation had occurred.
The investigation quickly focused on a relative, Wesley 'Brock' Pavey, who was identified as the last person known to have been in contact with Kraig and Sheri. Authorities located Pavey, and after an extended period of questioning, he confessed to the murders of his cousin and his wife. Following his confession, Pavey led investigators to the locations where he had left their bodies.
On Monday, May 31, 2021, the bodies of Kraig and Sheri Chambers were found near the town of Vera in Washington County. They had both been fatally shot. Their bodies were discovered approximately half a mile apart from each other, with Kraig's body located under a bridge. The investigation revealed that an argument had taken place in the garage of the Chambers' home, which escalated to Pavey shooting and killing the couple.
Wesley 'Brock' Pavey, who was 32 at the time and had been released from prison a few months prior, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
