In the summer of 2021, a tragic event unfolded in Oklahoma City that resulted in the deaths of 16-year-old Ramon Ivan Sosa and his 52-year-old grandmother, Angela Marie Sosa. The young man, known to his loved ones as Ivan, was a boxing enthusiast who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
On August 7, 2021, Ramon and his grandmother arrived at a house on the city's south side.
An altercation broke out between Ramon and another 16-year-old male, leading to Ramon being fatally shot. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in Angela Sosa's vehicle, with her still inside.
Law enforcement officers were able to track the suspect's vehicle to a dead end. At that point, the suspect abandoned the car and attempted to hide in the Oklahoma River. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered the body of Angela Sosa. The 16-year-old suspect was apprehended while trying to conceal himself in the river and was subsequently taken into custody. He was booked on two counts of first-degree murder. The motive for the altercation that led to the double homicide was still under investigation by detectives.
