An argument in the parking lot of a Tulsa, Oklahoma, apartment complex turned fatal on a Monday afternoon, ending the life of Mack Edward Long. The 38-year-old Black man was a resident of Tulsa.
The altercation occurred on January 17, 2022, at the Hope Valley Apartment Complex. According to Tulsa Police, Mack got into a dispute with another man. As the confrontation intensified, Mack attempted to run away. It was then that the other individual allegedly shot him.
Police were called to the scene around 4 p.m. and found Mack lying in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders transported Mack to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His death marked one of the city's first homicides of the year.
Detectives with the Tulsa Police Department quickly began an investigation. They identified Stanley Dandridge as the suspect in the shooting. The following afternoon, on Tuesday, January 18, authorities located and arrested Dandridge. He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Mack Long's death. As of January 2022, the case was proceeding through the legal system.
