In the fading hours of New Year's Eve 2022, a life was abruptly cut short in Ada, Oklahoma. Denavarie Quintel Brooks, a 37-year-old male, was killed in an encounter that would later be deemed a tragic act of self-defense. Brooks, known affectionately as 'Ray' to his friends and family, was a man who was remembered for his compassionate and loving nature.
