In the quiet town of Oregon, Wisconsin, a tragic event unfolded, ending the life of 64-year-old Elizabeth Singler, a Caucasian female from Madison. Her death on November 21, 2013, was not a random act of violence but the devastating culmination of a troubled relationship. The person responsible for her death was her 68-year-old boyfriend, Henry Pullett Jr., who took his own life after killing her in a murder-suicide.
The events leading to that fatal day began to escalate on November 3,
2013, near Olbrich Park in Madison, where Pullett had reportedly pulled a gun on Singler. This incident prompted a search for Pullett by the Madison police. The situation reached its tragic conclusion at a residence in the town of Oregon, which also served as a law office. The couple had gone to the home seeking legal advice from an attorney who had previously represented Pullett.
They arrived at the home and spent approximately two hours there, during which time there was an argument that led to Singler locking herself in a bathroom at one point. After she came out, and around 3:30 p.m., Pullett declared it was "too late." He then brandished a gun and fatally shot Elizabeth Singler before turning the gun on himself. The homeowners were present during the horrific event but were physically unharmed. As the perpetrator died at the scene, there were no arrests or suspects to be pursued by law enforcement.
