On a Friday evening in March, a time for mourning was shattered by sudden violence. Robert Fisher III, a 28-year-old Black man, was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, attending a wake for his uncle. The somber gathering had just concluded, and as he left the repast on March 13, 2015, tragedy befell him. Shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of W. Capitol Drive, a car approached.
