Alexander Graham, a 54-year-old male from Washington Park, Illinois, was tragically shot and killed on January 22, 2022. According to reports, Michael Wilmington, a 55-year-old male from Granite City, Illinois, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with Graham's death. Wilmington allegedly fired shots at a building in the area, which resulted in Graham being struck and subsequently transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting was conducted by the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation, in collaboration with the Washington Park Police Department, St. Ann Police Department, St. Louis Medical Examiner’s Office, and the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. Wilmington is currently being held at the St. Ann Police Department on a $1 million bond. The charges against him include intentionally and without lawful justification, with the intent to kill or cause great bodily harm to Alexander Graham, discharging a firearm at an occupied building, thereby causing Graham's death.
