In the early evening of a summer day in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the life of 21-year-old Domonic T. Taylor, a Black male, was cut short. On June 27, 2015, just before 7:30 p.m. near 63rd and Hope, a violent encounter unfolded. Taylor was inside a vehicle when he was shot.
According to police reports, the shooting occurred as Taylor was attempting to flee from individuals following a drug-related transaction. In the immediate aftermath, a friend rushed him to a nearby hospital in an effort to save his life. Despite these efforts, Taylor ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The incident was one of four separate shootings that took place in Milwaukee on that Saturday evening. In the wake of the fatal shooting, law enforcement began an investigation and a search for the suspects involved. At the time, authorities had not released detailed descriptions of the individuals they were seeking in connection with Taylor's death. The search for those responsible was reported to be underway.
