On a tragic day in Oconomow-oc, Wisconsin, the life of 34-year-old Christina Schus-ter, a Caucasian female, was cut short. On September 5, 2016, she was found deceased in her apartment at the River Place Apartments by her brother. An investigation swiftly determined that she had died from a single gunshot wound to the head, and the case was ruled a homicide. No weapon was recovered at the scene of the crime.
Authorities quickly identified a person of interest, a male friend of Schuster's, and it was also discovered that her vehicle was missing from her residence. The investigation led police to 40-year-old Jessie Lee, who was described as Schuster's "on again, off again" boyfriend. Schuster's brother informed investigators that his sister had intended to end her relationship with Lee and anticipated that it would not be received well. He also recalled seeing Lee with a firearm.
Jessie Lee was subsequently arrested in Milwaukee in connection with the fatal shooting. According to the criminal complaint, Lee made statements to police after his arrest, at one point claiming that Schuster had visited him after her death and that "she forgives me.". He was officially charged in her death. Ultimately, Jessie Lee was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Christina Schuster.
