On the evening of April 14, 2018, Jamie Johnson, a 36-year-old man, was in a vehicle on Milwaukee's south side with 33-year-old Jessica Nelson. The quiet evening was shattered by the sound of gunfire, and both Johnson and Nelson were fatally shot while inside the car. The discovery of their bodies prompted an immediate homicide investigation by the Milwaukee Police Department.
