In the late hours of a Tuesday evening in Milwaukee, the life of 16-year-old Xavier Davis was tragically cut short. On November 12, 2024, the young male was inside a Mad Chicken restaurant located on the city's south side, near the intersection of 27th Street and Oklahoma Avenue. At approximately 10:10 p.m., while in the restaurant's bathroom, he was shot. First responders arrived to find him with a life-threatening injury.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced deceased shortly after at 10:47 p.m.
The sudden violence left a community in shock and a family heartbroken. Xavier's sister, Natalie Ortiz, remembered him as her "best friend" and called for justice in the wake of his death. In the days that followed, loved ones gathered for a vigil at the scene of the shooting to honor his memory.
