Jonathan Blackmon, aged 37, tragically lost his life on July 29, 2018, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The incident occurred at a gas station near 32nd and Lisbon, where Blackmon was involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a fatal shooting. According to reports, Blackmon, who had a history of severe mental health issues, including bipolar disorder, clinical depression, and a severe manic disorder, entered the gas station and became involved in a confrontation with two women.
Surveillance footage revealed that Blackmon grabbed a hat off one of the women's heads and forcefully pulled the other woman by her hooded sweatshirt. The women left the gas station and got into a vehicle. Shortly after, another vehicle arrived, and multiple individuals exited and approached the scene. Blackmon was shot twice, once in the left abdomen and once in the right side of his back, leading to his death at the scene.
The investigation led to the arrest of six family members in connection with Blackmon's death. The individuals charged were Angela Armstrong, 52; Leonard Monroe, 51; Michael Bush, 34; Norva Armstrong, 55; Charles Mims, 22; and Angelica Robinson, 27. These individuals faced various charges related to the shooting. During the preliminary hearings, a Milwaukee Police Department detective testified, and probable cause was found for further proceedings.
