A young Black / African American man named Jimmie Williams, age 25, was shot in Milwaukee on the night of Saturday, April 21, 2018. The shooting occurred around 9:15 p.m. near North 18th Street and West Locust Street. Following the incident, Williams was privately transported and dropped off at a Milwaukee Fire Department station with a very serious gunshot wound.
Fire department personnel immediately administered life-saving measures and then transported him to a local hospital.
Williams remained in serious condition for several days. The individual who brought Williams to the firehouse did not remain at the scene, leaving authorities with few initial leads.
Tragically, after fighting for his life for four days, Jimmie Williams succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. At the time of the reports following his death, Milwaukee Police were still actively investigating the homicide and searching for any suspects involved in the shooting. No arrests had been made, and authorities continued to seek information from the public regarding the circumstances that led to his death.
