On a Friday afternoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the life of 14-year-old Maurice Whiters, a young Black male, was tragically cut short. On May 2, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., gunfire erupted in a double shooting near the 9000 block of North 75th Street. Maurice and another teenager, a 16-year-old, were both struck by bullets. Emergency services rushed both victims to a nearby hospital, but Maurice succumbed to his injuries. The 16-year-old was left in critical condition.
