In the early morning hours of September 2, 2018, the life of 34-year-old Lavelle Monroe, a Black/African American male from Racine, Wisconsin, was tragically cut short. Just before 1 a.m., Racine police responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of 20th and Howe Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Monroe on the ground, having sustained gunshot wounds. He was swiftly transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
