In October 2023, 18-year-old Bernard Edwards was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in connection with Beadles' death.
According to the criminal complaint, Edwards was allowed into the Gold Medal Lofts apartment building, where several individuals were using crack cocaine. Shortly after, Beadles was shot, and Edwards fled the scene, allegedly discarding the firearm in a storm sewer; the weapon was later recovered.
By March 2024, Edwards had pleaded not guilty to the charges. The case was proceeding through the Racine County Circuit Court, with further legal actions pending.
