In the summer of 2019, Quanita Tay Jackson, a 20-year-old Black/African American woman, was a beacon of hope in her Milwaukee community. Known for her positive energy and dedication to peace, she actively worked to create safe spaces for the city's youth. Just one day before her life was cut short, she had successfully organized a basketball tournament at Moody Park, an event designed to bring people together and steer young people away from street violence.
