On a Saturday afternoon in Madison, Wisconsin, the life of Aaron Xavier Johnson, a 22-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On February 8, 2020, Johnson was at his home in the 100 block of N. Blair St. when he answered a knock at his front door. He was fatally shot in what police believe was not a random act of violence.
Emergency services, including Madison Police, Fire, and EMS, were dispatched to the residence at approximately 3:46 PM following a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Johnson deceased at the scene with wounds consistent with being shot. The Dane County Medical Examiner's Office subsequently confirmed the cause of death.
