In the early hours of a Saturday morning in Salt Lake City, tragedy struck, claiming the life of Adalid Serrano-Robles, a 22-year-old male. On December 11, 2021, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the night in the area of 900 South Edison Street. Salt Lake City Police officers who were nearby immediately responded to the scene.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Serrano-Robles on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Civilians were already attempting to provide life-saving aid, and the officers quickly joined in these efforts. Despite their combined attempts to save him, Adalid Serrano-Robles succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation suggested that the shooting was not a random act of violence but rather stemmed from an isolated fight that had broken out among a group of people. In the aftermath of the shooting, several individuals who were present and may have witnessed the altercation left the area before police could speak with them.
Days after the fatal shooting, on December 18, 2021, the Salt Lake City Police Department announced a development in the case. Homicide detectives had successfully identified a person involved in the incident. However, the identity of this individual was not made public due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. Authorities did state that the person was cooperating with the investigation and that no criminal charges had been filed at that time. The case was being worked on in conjunction with the District Attorney's Office. No further updates on arrests or charges have been publicly released.
