In the summer of 2020, a tragedy unfolded on the streets of Milwaukee that cut short the life of Edgar J. Padilla, a 33-year-old Hispanic man. On the evening of July 1st, gunshots shattered the peace near 19th and Rogers streets, marking a violent end for Padilla and another man, 34-year-old Cyrus Glave. The incident, which began as a shot spotter alert, quickly escalated to a confirmed shooting, prompting an immediate law enforcement response.
