In the late hours of a Friday evening in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the life of Marcus Giddens, a 41-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short. On October 8, 2021, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the night in the vicinity of 63rd Street and 24th Avenue. The Kenosha Police Department received calls reporting the gunfire and promptly responded to the scene.
Upon their arrival, officers were directed to a residence where they discovered a man inside
who had sustained gunshot wounds. They immediately began administering first aid until paramedics from the Kenosha Fire/Rescue arrived to take over. The injured man, later identified as Marcus Giddens, was rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Giddens succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
