On March 21, 2022, just a month after her birthday, Nia was fatally shot near North 32nd Street and West Oriole Street. grief. In the year prior to her death, she had endured the loss of a baby. Compounding her sorrow, her best friend had been killed in an accident just days before her own death. She had been in the process of preparing for a balloon release to honor her friend's memory.
