On the evening of April 10, 2022, Shannon Jovan Freeman, a 30-year-old Black male, was fatally shot at The Loaded Slate, a downtown Milwaukee bar. An argument that began inside the establishment escalated, tragically ending in Freeman's death. He was a father and worked as a chef at City Lights Brewing Company.
