In the summer of 2022, a young woman's life was tragically cut short on a street in Milwaukee. Daneysha Velez, a 24-year-old female, was shot and killed on the afternoon of Thursday, July 21, 2022. The fatal shooting occurred near the intersection of 17th and Wright streets, a violent act that added another name to the city's growing list of homicide victims.
